Voncile Payne Bankester, 93, a native of Pine Grove and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, May 19, 2008 at Oakwood Nursing Home in Bay Minette.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mattie Payne; her husband, Roy S. Bankester; and her daughter, Lynda Bankester Allen.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (Cecil) Kennedy of Crossroads; and three grandchildren, Michael Wade Allen, Phillip Jeffrey Allen and Leigh Kennedy Horn.

Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday, May 21 at Bromley Cemetery with Dr. Henry Cox officiating.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Durant Chapel Baptist Church 9551 Highway 138, Bay Minette, AL 36507.

Arrangements were made by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
