Sawmill Worker Accused In Murder Of Colleague

 

Bay Minette, May 28. - John Pipkin, 38, a sawmill worker, was held without bond on a murder charge today in the fatal shooting of a fellow worker, Deputy Sheriff H. F. Hall said.

Rube McConnell, 42, died Tuesday of gunshot wounds suffered several months ago. Deputy Hall said the shooting followed a dispute over work at the sawmill.

Pipkin, who had been out on bond on a charge of assault with intent to murder charge, was re-arrested and placed in Baldwin County jail on a new charge of murder, Hall said.
