Cammiolla Thompson Adams

 

Age 87, a native of Bay Minette, and a resident of Mobile, AL died at a local hospital on Sunday, January 7, 2001. She was a member of First United Methodist of Bay Minette. She was the grand daughter of the Honorable Judge Franklin Racine, of Baldwin County. Her families were charter members of the City of Bay Minette, and were involved in a number of political, civic and community affairs throughout Baldwin County. Her mother and father, Mrs. Pearl Racine Thompson and Mr. Leroy ``Buck'' Thompson, were the owners of a number of ``Mom & Pop'' stores in Baldwin County. She was formerly employed by Attorney Martin Briskman, Sonnier Diaper, and the Mobile Infirmary Gift Shop. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Ralph C. Greene; her second husband, Porter A. Adams; her mother, Pearl Thompson; her father, Leroy ``Buck'' Thompson; four brothers, James Thompson, Alonzo Thompson, L.L. Thompson and Joseph Thompson; one sister, Pearlie Lee Thompson. She is survive d by her step son, Ralph C. Greene, Jr., of Chattanooga, TN; one grandson, James Allen Merifield, of Mobile, AL; step-grandchildren, Mitchell (Bethany) Soutullo, of Pensacola, FL, Teresa Soutullo, of Atlanta, GA, Sherrie Soutullo, of North Carolina, and Chandra Soutullo, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and one daughter, Linda Greene (Charles) Soutullo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gilmer's Funeral Home. She will lie in state on Thursday, January 11, 2001, in the Chapel of First United Methodist of Bay Minette from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be in Bay Minette Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by GILMER'S FUNERAL HOME, of Zeigler Blvd.
