Ed Averitt

Ed Averitt, 68, died Sunday. He was a retired foreman and engineer with the Mobile Reserve Fleet, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bedford officiating. Interment followed in Pine Grove Cemetery. He is survived by: his wife, Dahlia Alene (Martin) Averitt of Bay Minette; two daughters, Ann Johnson and Faye Chambless both of Bay Minette; three sons, Charles Edward Averitt, Edd Lee Averitt, and Joseph (Joey) Steve Averitt, all of Bay Minette; his mother, Della Williamson of Chickasaw, Ala.; two brothers, J.B. Averitt of Panama city, Fla. and Preston Williams of Chickasaw, Ala.; five sisters, Frances Williamson of sunny South, Ala., Bernice Strickland and Lois McMillan both of Chickasaw, Jessie Lee Walton of Bay Minette and Juanita Lynn of Saraland; and seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements by Norris Funeral Home of Bay Minette.
