ROUNDTREE Family of Alabama Jesse Roundtree and his wife, Delphy Lawson
Roundtree, settled in Pike County Alabama. The 1850 PikeCountyALCensus lists: Jesse Roundtree
(39) The 1860 PikeCountyALCensus lists: Jesse Roundtree (46) The 1870 PikeCountyALCensus lists: John (Jesse) Roundtree (58, born in NC) The 1880 Pike County AL Census lists: Delphy Roundtree (66, Widowed, born in Georgia,
father and mother both born in VA) Note: The census in 1880 apparently has incorrect ages for the Roundtree kids based on their ages in the previous census. Delphy is listed as the 66 year old widowed mother of the head of household (John), and, in the 1870 census John was listed as 25. So by 1880, John would have been 35 not 31. In the 1870 Census, Emily was 15, so, by 1880 she would have been 25 not 20. By 1880 Nancy ("Ollie") Roundtree had left the family and married Henry T. Weaver. My great grandmother was Nancy Olivia "Ollie" Roundtree (b. 26-Sept.-1851). She married Henry Towers Weaver (on 1-Jan-1874) and they settled in Salado, TX.
