News Of Roanoke.

Stanmore H. Carlisle, Aged Resident, Laid to Rest.

Roanoke, June 9--(Special)--The funeral services of Mr. Stanmore H. Carlisle were conducted at 10 o'clock yesterday morning from the First Baptist Church by Rev. F. H. Farrington, the pastor. Mr. Carlisle died suddenly Sunday afternoon, while visiting his daughter, Mrs. M. W. J. Young, in Louisville, Ky. He was a member of a prominent family of this section being a brother of Wade and John Carlisle. He was about 70 years of age and was a Confederate veteran.

William A. Radney.

Roanoke, March 31--William A. Radney, one of the most prominent citizens of Randolph county, died last night at his home near Wadley after a few day's illness. He was a member of this county board of education and had always taken an active interest in public affairs.

He was a Confederate veteran and an official member of the Methodist church, Mr. Radney was 66 years of age and was the father of six sons, who are engaged in business in Roanoke. Wadley and Alexander City. The funeral will occur at Wadley Saturday.

Mrs. E. L. Mann.

Roanoke, Ala. July 9--Mrs. E. L. Mann, mother of W. J. Mann, assistant cashier of the Merchants and Farmers Bank of Roanoke, died yesterday morning at her home near Wadley. She had been ill for some months.

Miss Frankie Swann

The death of Miss Frankie Swann, an elderly lady, is reported from Wedowee. The demise occurred yesterday. The deceased was an aunt of Postmaster T. M. Swann.
