HUDSON STUCK HERE
Archdeacon Hudson Stuck, of the Alaska Territory, is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cobb. The archdeacon is en route to New York where he will remain for the winter. The archdeacon ascended Mt. McKinley to its summit several years ago in company with Henry Karstens, known as the "70 Mile Kid." He favors the name "Denali" for the mountain in preference to "Mt. McKinley." Denali is the name given the mountain by natives many years ago.  - [The Daily Alaska Dispatch, October 6, 1915 - Transcribed by Christina Anthony.]

BURY HARPER WHO MASTERED MT. MCKINLEY
The last rites of the church were said this morning at Holy Trinity Cathedral over the remains of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harper, two of the victims of the Sophia.

Harper was a native of Alaska, son of the first gold-seeker who came to the Yukon, and had been
Archdeacon Stuck's traveling companion for a number of years, and was with the Archdeacon when he made the first complete ascent of Mount Denali (Mount McKinley), himself the first of the party to set foot on its summit.

Mrs. Harper had been a missionary nurse at Bishop Rowe's hospital at Fort Yukon, where Stefffffanson was nursed back to health and was a daughter of Mr. William Wells of Germantown, Philadelphia. Mr. Harper was on his way out to join the aviation corps, and his wife to engage in Red Cross work.

By direction of
Archdeacon Stuck, Bishop Rowe, and the father of Mrs. Harper, the bodies were interred here by Dean Christian.

The pallbearer were men from the cathedral congregation:
Major Waugh, Mr. J. H. Cobb, Mr. F. Wolland, Mr. E. R. Stivers, Mr. F. F. W. Lowe and Mr. A. I Whyte. - [Daily Alaska Dispatch, November 14, 1918 - Transcribed by Christina Anthony.]
