Alaska advices state that General Davis arrived at Sitka February 23th. [Edwardsville

Lieutenant L. C. Cowen was killed at Sitka on the 28th ult., by a drunken soldier dishonorably discharged. In the
quarrel, Colonel Dennison fired a pistol at him, but missed, the shot taking effect on Cowen, killing him instantly.

Thirty-seven persons left Sitka by recent steamer, 19 bound for Seattle, 14 for Juneau and 4 for Ketchikan. Going
to Seattle were Mrs. Leona Thompson, Kenneth Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Estep, Sharon, Billy, Jack and Larry
Estep, Mr. and Mrs. Same Keith, Mrs. Louise H. Mills, Mr. Kenneth Sampson, Miss Irene Reynolds, Mrs. Clair A. Dehnke,
Forrest P. Knapp, Mrs. Tina Hussey, Miss Marion Hussey, Miss Elizabeth Nelson, Jos. N. Craft.
Headed for Juneau were Mr. and mrs. Ben Bellamy, Johnny Holten, Mrs. Elaine Herrington and Carol, Rev. John Zoblin,
Mrs. M. Sutton, Irene, Florence and Lloyd, Miss Amy Montgomery, A. Van Mavern and Harold B. Foss.
Warren Elliott, Victor Kluse and George and Frances Olofson were enroute to Ketchikan.
