Ruth Vansickle, 61, of Tichnor died Feb. 13. She was a member of Hebron Missionary Baptist Church of Point DeLuce and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Stuttgart Chapter. She was born Nov. 24, 1946, to George and Betty Lee Best. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Billy Vansickle; two daughters, Cindy Ponder and her husband, Stacy, and Lee Ann Cody and her husband, Steven, of Tichnor; three grandsons, Kyle Vansickle and his wife, Nikki, Morgan and Steven Cody; one great-granddaughter, Makyla Vansickle of Tichnor; four brothers, George Alvin Best of Kingsland, James Best of Tichnor, Henry “Buddy” Best of Sherwood and Wendy Best of Logan, WV; two sisters, Betty Jean Ramus of Atkins and Jeanell Shelton of Tichnor; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Hockenberry Cemetery in Tichnor by Essex Funeral Home of DeWitt.
