MR.
WILLIAM RADFORD, 45, of Helena died Friday, February 18,
2000, in Helena. Mr. Radford was a native of Crossett, a teacher in the
Helena District for the past 18 years, and a member of the Beautiful
Zion Baptist Church of Helena.
He is survived by two sons, Brady and William A. Radford, both of
Nashville, TN; two daughters, Nakita Radford of Terrell, TX, and
Rhateische Radford of Tacoma, WA; his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Jessie
Radford, Sr., of Crossett; one brother, Jessie Radford, Jr., of Hope;
two sisters, Mary Martin of Crossett and Carol Brow of Monroe, LA; and
two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 23, at 4:00 p.m. in Helena
with the Rev. L.T. Mapp officiating. Interment was in the Ryles Chapel
Cemetery on February 24 at 1:00 p.m., directed by Stephens Funeral Home

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS ---
VERBA JEAN REYNOLDS, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Reynolds was a native of Ashley County, Ark., and was manager of Blue Meadow Road Apartments in Bay St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Merle Edgar; and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, J. J. Reynolds; a son, Johnny Wayne
Reynolds, both of Bay St. Louis; a daughter, Sue Rhodes of Gulfport;
two brothers, Clifford Edgar of Little Rock, Ark., and Jimmy Edgar of
Crossett, Ark.; a sister, Reba Johnson of Bastrop, La.; and four
grandchildren.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in
Bay St. Louis, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in
Biloxi National Cemetery .

CROSSETT, AR--
ROSE
RICE, 71, of Shreveport, LA, formerly of Crossett, died
Friday, March 3, 2000, at the Schumpert-Dubuis Hospital in Shreveport.
Born July 27, 1928, to Darrell Lee and Etta Meeks Smith in Milo, she
was a member of the Trinity Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded
in death by a granddaughter, Lee Ann Sowyers, and her husband, Kenneth
Owen Rice.
Survivors are two sons, Ronnie Owen Rice and Bruce Rice; a daughter, Jo
Ann Rice, all of Shreveport; three grandchildren, David Owen Dvorshock,
Wayne Allen Rice and Stephanie Brook Rice; two great-grandchildren and
two nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, in the Jones Funeral
Home chapel in Crossett with Rev. Roy Craig officiating. Pallbearers
were Donald Chance, Joe Barnett, Calvin Fletcher, Jimmy Meeks, Dennis
Barnett and Gary Wayne Smith. Burial followed services at the Simms

CROSSETT, ARK--
HAZEL ANN RISHER, 64, of Crossett died Friday, January 14, 2000, at the Ashley
County Medical Center. Mrs. Risher was born February 5, 1935, to Bobby and Lena
Frisby. She was retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of the South Crossett
Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Joe C. Risher of
Crossett; three sons, Roger D. Teague of Phoenix, Mark C. Risher of Crossett and
Randy S. Risher of Houston, TX; a daughter, Linda D. Goodwin of Crossett; three
brothers, Charles Frisby of Crossett, Bob Frisby of Bay and Curly Frisby of
Crossett; two sisters, Lillie Reed of Monroe, LA, and Betty Krouse of Minden,
LA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were
at 11 a.m. Monday, January 17, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with
Rev. Dan Webb officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby Sled, Glen Sled, Greg Sivils,
Terry Upshaw, Wade Upshaw, Todd Grubbs, Johnny Paterson and Philip Deal. Burial

WILMOT, AR--
MR.
RAY ANTHONY ROGERS, 35, of Wilmot died Monday, January 24,
2000, at the Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS. A
life-long resident of Wilmot, he was an employee of Justice Pecan
Company and a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church. He was
preceded in death by his mother, Rosie Rogers, on December 1, 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie Diggs Rogers of Hamburg; four sons,
Robert, Christopher and Corderra Diggs of Hamburg and Jeffrey Jermaine
Stanley of Wilmot; two daughters, Christina Rogers of Hamburg and
Azeria Cobbs of Parkdale; his stepfather, Troy Stanley of Wilmot; four
bothers, Nathan, Dewayne "Charlie," and Troy Stanley, Jr., of Wilmot
and James O'Nell of Little Rock; three sisters, Sheila M. Stanley,
Gloria Jean Penn and Beverlyn R. Heard of Wilmot; and his grandmother,
Fannie Raino of Wilmot.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, January 31, in the First
Baptist Church in Wilmot with Rev. George Grisley officiating.
Pallbearers were Henry Moore, Bennie Diggs, Calvin Brown, Jasper
Rainey, Curtis Haskins, Jr., and William Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers
were members of the Wilmot High School 1982 class. Burial followed
services at the St. Martha Cemetery, directed by Cromwell Funeral Home

PORTLAND, AR--
MR. W. A. RUTLEDGE, 82, of Portland died Friday, January 21, 2000, at the
Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. A native of West Monroe, LA, he was a
resident of the Aulds community outside Portland since 1937 when he and his
father homesteaded the family home place. He was a retired farmer and pipeline
welder and an U. S. Army Medical Corps veteran of World War II. A member of the
Aulds Baptist Church and the Pipeliners Union 798, he was preceded in death by
his parents, William and Ara Armstrong Rutledge; a brother, Erskin Rutledge; and
two sisters, Repta Tippen and Leola Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn
Baumann Rutledge; a son, William "Willie" Rutledge, Jr.; a brother, Roy Hill
Rutledge; a sister, Elizabeth Bozeman Hamilton, all of Portland; and a grandson,
Josh Hammond of Little Rock.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, January
24, in the Aulds Baptist Church with Revs. Ray Williams and E. W. Ricks
officiating. Pallbearers were George Bozeman, David Ponder, Jake Gay, Donald M.
Bozeman, and Bruce and John Paul Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy
Dalton, Justin and Josh Carpenter, Leroy Matthews and George and David
Rutledge.
Burial followed services at 3 p.m. Monday in the New Sardis
Cemetery in West Monroe, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg.
