VESSIE
NEAL--Nov. 18, 1909 -- Jan. 3, 1997-- Vessie Neal, 87, of
Merced died Friday at Mercy Hospital. Mrs. Neal was a native of Boone
County, Ark. She lived in Merced 61 years. She was a member of the
Church of Christ. She is survived by her children, Neavis Huckobey and
James W. Neal, both of Merced, Arlene Vergara of Sonoma, Amelia A.
Coffee of Merced, Kenneth L. Neal of Sacramento and Winford A. Neal of
DosPalos; and 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A funeral
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Stratford Evans Merced
Chapel. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be
from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. --Modesto Bee, The

86, of Harrison, Ark., formerly of Wichita, retired Lear Aircraft Co.
security guard, died Monday Dec. 6, 1999. Service 10:30 a.m. Thursday,
First Church of God, Harrison, Ark.
Survivors: wife, Clarice; daughter, Tressie Case of Rogersville, Mo.;
four stepchildren; brothers, Joe of Calif., Edward of Siloam Springs,
Ark.; sister, Vesta Weins of Harrison, Ark.; nine grandchildren; ten
great- grandchildren.

ARTHUR NYGREN,
90, of Harrison, Ark., died Tuesday (March 3, 1998) in Harrison.
Born on March 3, 1908, he was son of the late Sven and Matilda Nygren.
Before he retired, he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gardner, and a daughter, Jean Erikson.
Surviving are a son, Edward, Edwardsville, PA; daughters Janice Zyer,
Silver Lake, Wis.; Gail Andersen, Harvey, Ill.; Mary Ann Nutter,
Steger, Ill.; his wife, Josephine, Harrison; 24 grandchildren; 49
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday in Harrison.
