KENNETT, MO -- EVERETT H. EDWARDS,
70, formerly of Clay County, Ark., retired bakery manager, died
Thursday of pneumonia at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in
Jonesboro, Ark. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Mitchell
Funeral Home of Rector, Ark., with burial in Woodland Heights Cemetery
there. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Edwards leaves four sisters, Juanita Meredith and Erma Lee Boase,
both of Rockford, Ill., Lucille Williams of Fredericktown (MO) and Mary
Williams of Kennett, and two brothers, John Henry Edwards and J. W.
Edwards, both of Rector.

WELDON
CLAYBORN EMMONS,
83, of Cape Girardeau, MO died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 at
Missouri Veterans Home. He was born Nov. 9, 1922 in
Corning, Ark., son of John Timothy and Mary Griffith
Emmons.
Emmons was a truck driver many years. He was a veteran of
World War II and served in the U. S. Army, Navy and Coast
Guard.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Emmons of Diamond
Bar, CA, Timothy Emmons of Chino, CA, Bill Emmons of San
Bernardino, CA; a daughter, Mary Emmons of Cabazon, CA;
two brothers, Vernon Emmons of Blackville, SC, Lynn
Emmons of Paducah, KY; two sisters, Gail Fletcher of Cape
Girardeau, Glenda Henry of Tucson, AZ; 14 grandchildren;
and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his parents and two brothers.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lorimier
Cemetery, Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Cy Smith
officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by
Missouri Honor Team. Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
CORNING, Ark. - WINSTON EZELL, 71, died at 1:13 p.m. Aug. 22, 2001 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Born Aug. 4, 1930, in Athens, Ala., son of the late Lemuel Horace and
Jessie Elizabeth Owen Ezell, he was a retired self-employed
construction worker and served with the U.S. Air Force during the
Korean War. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He owned and
operated Ezell Pipe and Ditching and worked with land owners and
operators in New Madrid, Scott and Stoddard counties in Missouri.
On Nov. 14, 1954, he married Frances Ezell who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim Ezell of
Corning and Wayne and Kolynn Ezell of Cabot; one daughter and
son-in-law, Sandy and Randy Anders of Corning; one brother, James Ezell
of Jonesboro; two sisters, Sarah Springer of Nolensville, Tenn., and
Martha Neal of Germantown, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.
One son, Larry Ray Ezell, preceded him in death on May 22, 1999.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Ermert Funeral Home in
Corning where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday with Mark
Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Corning Cemetery.
