JOHN F. JACOBS CORNING, Ark. - John F. Jacobs, 87, formerly of Mount Morris, (IL) died Thursday, Nov. 29, 1984 after a short illness. He was born Sept. 6, 1897. He was the youngest of five children of Foneticus Jacobs and Mina (Avery) Jacobs, in Mt. Morris, Illinois. He was married to Ruth M. Jacobs on June 6, 1922. The were divorced Nov. 3, 1944. Four children were born of this union. Dorothy Pauline, Arthur Lee, John Wesley, and Leola Mae Jacobs. He remarried in 1945 to Virgie Canteberry. Survivors include his wife, Virgie of Corning, Ark.; daughters, Dorothy Diehl of Belvidere, (IL) and Leola Frey of Dixon, (IL); sons, Arthur of Amboy, (IL) John W. of Dixon and Roy of Jonesboro, Ark.; step-son, Ray Canteberry of Florida; sister Gertie Peugh of Mount Morris; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
