PARTIAL LIST OF STORM VICTIMS, April 16, 1921

TWO LOSE LIVES WHEN HOME BURNS

Transcribed by Dale Donlon

Ft. Smith, Ark., April 16--E. J. Smith, aged 40, and his three-year-old daughter Myra were burned to death and Smith's nine-months-old babe and his housekeeper were perhaps fatally burned in a fire that destroyed the Smith home near Texarkana, Wednesday.  The family was awakened by the collapse of the roof of the home.  Smith carried the eldest child to safety and then rescued the housekeeper and the babe.  While he was engaged in saving clothing, the oldest child ran into the house to find him.  Both were imprisoned in the burning house by a second collapse of the roof..  --The Oklahoman, April 17, 1913.
