Sharp County Arkansas Genealogy Trails LOUISE J. GARSIDE Williford,
AR--Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 for LOUISE
J. GARSIDE, of Williford at 1:00 p.m. at the Williford
Cemetery. She died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Lawrence
Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, AR at the age of 87 years, 6 months,
21 days.
Louise was born October 16, 1920 at Newport, AR, daughter of Alfred and Louie (Justus) Mashburn. She was married to William P. Garside on May 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1978. She was also preceded by one son, Herbert Barton Harbor on May 12, 1976; her parents; two brothers, Charles D. and Bertrum B. Mashburn; and two sisters, Mary M. Bottom and Antoinette Scarbrough. She was survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation was Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Service in Hardy until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Williford Cemetery. The service at the grave was conducted by family members, Anna Newell, niece; Sharon Mashburn, niece-in-law and David W. Newell, grand-nephew. PIEDMONT, MO.--VIRGIL GIPSON, 73
of Piedmont died Friday, May 16, 2008. He was born March 1, 1935
in Sitka, Ark. He and Eula Mae Hewlett were married June 19, 1954
in St. Louis.
Gipson owned and operated Gipson Electrical Contractors in Piedmont many years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Brinkley of Rolla, Mo., Brenda Rayfield of Piedmont, Teresa McQueen of Atlanta; a son, Lloyd Gipson of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. A prayer service will be held at 7:30. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine Church, with the Rev. Mark Binder officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with military honors to be conducted. MRS. LEE GOODMAN
Batesville, AR--Funeral for MRS. LEE GOODMAN,
82, native of Poughkeepsie (Sharp County), who died Sunday in Plymouth,
Mich., was yesterday in the Poughkeepsie Church of Christ by Riley
Henry. Burial was in Barnes Cemetery by McGee Funeral Home of
Cave City. Survivors include two sons, John O. Goodman of
Plymouth and Winslow Goodman of Englewood, Calif., and three daughters,
Mrs. Ray Heath and Mrs. Grace Gribble of Plymouth and Mrs. Gladys
