GARY WAYNE RENIHAN--Born 6-21-1957 - Died 10-31-2001
Gary Wayne Renihan, 44, of Ash
Flat died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at his residence. He was born June
21, 1957 in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of Robert Renihan and Janet
Allen.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served during the
Vietnam Conflict. He moved to Ash Flat seven years ago from Dallas,
Texas. He was of the protestant faith, and worked as a carpet layer
while living in Ash Flat.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, Robert and Glenda Renihan
of Cherokee Village; his mother, Janet Renihan of Indianapolis, Ind.;
his paternal grandmother Dorothy Cazadd of Indianapolis; three
brothers, Thomas Allen Renihan of Ash Flat, Robert Steven Renihan of
Cherokee Village, and David Bruce Renihan of Indianapolis; two sisters,
Susan Scarborough of Little Elm, Texas, and Cheryl Lynn Barkman of
Indianapolis; one step-sister, Tammy Jennings; and many other relatives
and friends.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Wiles
Cemetery in Ash Flat, with arrangement under the direction of
Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.

WILLIFORD, ARK– LOUISE DOROTHY RICE,
79 of Williford, Ark., formerly of West Helena, died Sunday, Jan. 27,
2002 at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1922 in Rim Rock, Wash., the
daughter of the late Glenn Edward and Evelyn Lillian (Whitner) Babbitt.
She was married to Chester Dean Rice on Dec. 24, 1943 in Medford, Oregon. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1999.
She was formerly employed by Gibson's Department Store in West Helena
and was a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Garrison of Hardy, Billie Jean
Ray of West Helena, and Sharon Frachiseur of Ruston, La.; one
step-daughter, Glyn Logue of Williford; two sons, Edward Rice of Pine
Bluff and Steven Rice of Houma, La.; one sister, Velma Kunkel of
Randle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and many
other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one daughter, Phyllis Ann Rice.
Services were Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002 at 10 a.m. at the Ward Street
Church of Christ with Rev. Tom O'Neal officiating. Burial was in the
Baker Cemetery at Williford with arrangements under the direction of
Higginbotham Funeral Service, Inc. of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Robert Ray, Jr., Coley Rice, Tim Long, James Smith, Sr., James Smith, Jr., and Wilbert Burkes.

BERTHA
ANTHONY ROGERS
Bertha Anthony (Anthy) Rogers, aged 87,
of Hardy died Thursday, March 6, 1986 at Baptist Memorial
Hospital in Cherokee Village. She was a homemaker
and a member of the Re-Organizaed Church of Jesus Christ
of the Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death
by her husband, Dan Rogers.
Survivors include one daughter, Thelma Swetman (Swetnam)
of Hardy; one brother Alma Davis of Salem, Missouri, one
sister, Estella A. Highley of Holden, Missouri; five
grandchildren, five
great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 9th at 4 pm at
the Higginbotham Chapel. Officiating were Johnny
Sawyer and Russell Fisher. Burial was in Walker

WILLARD L. RUSH
EVENING SHADE, ARK–WILLARD L.
“BUCK” RUSH, 81, of Evening Shade, died Wednesday, Nov. 21,
2001 at his home. He was born July 5, 1920 at Evening Shade to Walter
V. and Molly (Ford) Rush.
He formerly lived in Noblesville, Ind., and retired from Firestone
Industrial Products in 1981 after more than 30 years. He was an Army
Veteran of World War II, a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & A.M.
#744, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at Evening Shade.
Survivors include his wife, Gean Roach Nieman Rush of the home; four
daughters, Gingie "Jill" McCune, Rebecca L. Dash, both of Noblesville,
Ind., Bonnie S. Neidus of Beachwood, Ohio, and Dorothy "Andy" Anderson
of Batesville; two brothers, W. D. Rush and Garland Rush both of
Kokomo, Ind.; two sisters, Jane "J.C." Ring of Kansas City, Mo., and
Rose Murphy of Gould, Ark.; six grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville Rush,
Coy "Chuck" Rush, four sisters; Susie Kunkel, Mildred Higginbottom,
Minnie Belle Bearden, Mary D. Rush, and one granddaughter, Libby McCune.
Services were Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral
Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Norman Ross Jr. officiating. Burial
was in the Lee's Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements
under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Wes Mann, Sherman Ables, Harvey Hudspeth, Carlton
Provence, Bill Pierce, and Ken Ward. Honorary pallbearers were Dr.
Charles Tucker and staff.
