Butte County is a county located in
the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California, north of
state capital Sacramento. The county seat is Oroville. Butte
County is the "Land of Natural Wealth and Beauty." In 1860 till it's closure during World War II in 1942, it was the deepest gold mine in North America, 5,912 feet.
