A.G. Martinez, of Hornitos, was drowned in Bear Creek near Indian
Gulch last Sunday morning. He was crossing the creek on horseback
and when about half way across his horse fell. He was seen floating
down the stream about a quarter of a mile from where he fell, but
the man who witnessed the affair was too far away to render any
assistance.-Mariposa Herald.
