wholesale grocers; L. P. and S. S. Crane, wholesale
druggists (opened first drug store in Sacramento. At this
time had three stores); Byington and company, wholesale
grocers; Prettyman and Barroll, auction house; Moddus and
Price, wholesale grocers.

B. Starr and company; Clark and Milne, auction house;
Caldwell and company, cigars, wine and liquors; Alderman,
White, Whitman and company auction house; Barton and Boulden,
wholesale merchants; Berry, Bliss and company, auction house
(three-story brick building); Fisk and Perkins, commission
merchants; C. C. Flagg, auction house (three-story
building); Brown and Van Wie, whole grocers.
