FEITLER, MICHAEL
Michael passed away,
at home, in San Diego, CA, peacefully with his family, as he wished on September
14, 2010. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1924, where he was a childhood
playmate of Anne Frank. He was 86.
Predeceased by parents, Lewis and
Lucie (Simon) Feitler.
In loving memory…Michael is survived by his wife,
Josefina Borja Feitler, his daughter (mother Rita Feitler), his sister, Maria
Anna Herzog, daughter, Jaqueline Feitler-Ferguson, son-in-law, Don, and his
granddaughters, Danielle and Jessica Ferguson, and a lifetime of friends.
He was the proud graduate of The Bronx High School of Science, NY.
Passions included, playing bridge, cruises, nature, art, politics, the stock
market and medicine. He was a retired real estate broker, in Oakland, CA.
He donated his body to science, the UCSD School of Medicine.
A
beautiful family memorial was held, at the ocean in Encinitas, CA on September
17, 2010. He was remembered as a renaissance man, a ‘scientist’, and for his
quirky sense of humor. His life and unique personality were celebrated, and a
dozen butterflies were released. A mass was held in his honor, on October 2,
2010.
His endless advice was usually accompanied by an, “it’s very
important”. So too, the life Michael led was, “very important”.
