A RAID ON
MR. AND MRS. THOMAS RICHARDSON
On January 9th, between 40 and 50 people took advantage of the dense fog, and made a raid on Mr. and Mrs; Thomas Richardson. So still and well managed were their plans that the good people did not know their intentions until too late to resist. They took possession from parlor to kitchen. The tables were loaded with turkey, chicken, boiled ham, cakes, pies, coffee, nuts and candy. Mrs. Richardson asked them "if they had come to stay." Just then she remembered that it was the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding. After an hour spent in pleasant conversation, the Rev. Mr. Belnap made some appropriate remarks, ending with a prayer, and then followed the presentation of the following presents: One pair gold spectacles for Mr. Richardson, one pair gold spectacles for Mrs. Richardson, one pair gold sleeve buttons for Mr. Richardson, two gold breast pins for Mrs. Richardson, one dozen glass goblets, half dozen silver table spoons, and one-half dozen silver teaspoons. The bride and groom were then ordered to march to dinner, where all were feasted to their heart's content. At the close Elder Belknap remarked that in the olden time they gathered up "twelve baskets of fragments, that gave each of the apostles one basket."

Watts-Ward—At the residence of Thomas Richardson, May 22, 1892, by Bishop Becker,
Mr. John F. Watts, of San Francisco, and Miss Isadore Ward of Oakdale.

On Sunday last, Mr. John Watts, late of San Francisco, and Miss Isadore Ward were married in the handsome country home of the bride's venerable grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Richardson near Oakdale. The wedding was a private one and only a few were present. The bride is well known here but the groom is a stranger. He has captured one of Oakdale's fairest daughters, however, and he may well be proud of his victory. The happy couple left immediately for San Francisco.

The Oakdale Graphic, May 25, 1892, added "their home will be in Stockton at 171 Lindsay Street."
