Kenneth Henley
Kenneth Leslie Henley, 65, of Chinese Camp, died last night in a local hospital. A native of South Dakota, Mr. Henley had lived here 10 years. He and his wife, Veda, owned and operated the Henley Rock Shop on Highway 108. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Yosemite Odd Fellows Lodge in Big Oak Flat, the Big Oak Rebekah Lodge, and the Moose Lodge in San Andreas.In addition to his wife, Mr. Henley leaves four sons, including Leslie Henley of Groveland; one daughter; six brothers; five sisters; and 15 grandchildren. McMAHON, MARK R.

Dec. 12, 1996 – Dec. 12, 1996. Mark R. McMahon, infant, of Sonora died Thursday at Sierra Birth Center. Mark is survived by his parents, Pastor Miles and Joyce McMahon of Sonora; a sister, Bethany McMahon of Sonora; grandparents, Jack and Polly Henning of Sacramento; Jim and Gig Stone of Fresno and Jim and Gretchen McMahon of Lake Havasu City, AZ; and his great-grandmother, Dorothy Baird of Sacramento. MERZ, CALVIN C. JR.

Nov. 14, 1929 – Dec. 11, 1996

Calvin C. Merz, Jr., 67, of Jamestown died Wednesday at Tuolumne General Hospital, Sonora. Mr. Merz was a native of San Francisco. He lived in Jamestown and previously in Salinas 10 years. He worked in plaster for 30 years. He was a painter and wood carver. He was a member of Monterey County Historical Society. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He is survived by his children, Theresa Merz of Jamestown, Pam Rayborne of Manteca, Maggie Merz of Newark, and Nicolette Kelstrom, Nerice Romano and Mary Louise Diviccaro, all of Fresno; stepchildren, Benjamin Tamie, David, Jamie and Christofer; a brother, Dennis Merz of California; sisters, Nerice Moore of Laguna Niguel and Marilyn Crovo of Rocklin; and six grandchildren. REINHARDT, ELLA JEAN nee SCOVIL

May 4, 1930 – Dec. 12, 1996

Ella Jean Reinhardt, 66, of Twain Harte died Thursday. Mrs. Reinhardt was a native of Ashtabula, Ohio. She lived in Killeen, Texas, 28 years before coming to Twain Harte a few months ago. She was a homemaker for 46 years. She was a member of Sunset Baptist Church, Killeen. She is survived by her husband, Oliver Reinhardt of Killeen; children, Mark Reinhardt of Cleburn, TX, Byron Reinhardt of Nacogdoches, TX, Cathy Lindsey of Temple, TX, and Debra Estrada of Twain Harte; brothers, Lynn Scovil of Oshkosh, WI, and John Scovil of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Mary Jeanette Siekkien of Michigan, Elizabeth Nordquist of Ashtabula and Shirley Harvey of Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. THOMAS L TATE
Thomas L Tate, 61, a resident of Jacksonville for the past nine years, died in a Sonora hospital on Sunday following a brief illness. A native of Arkansas, Mr. Tate had retired some years ago. He had been active for many years as a mechanic. He leaves his widow, Mrs Ethel Tate of Jacksonville; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Freeman and Mrs. Ella Madison, both of Jacksonville; a sister, Mrs. Helen Rood of Long Beach; five brothers, Roy and Ralph Tate of Colorado; Bert Tate of Oregon; Elmer Tate of Arkansas, and Orville Tate of Oklahoma, and eleven granchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Biglow Chapel in Sonora.
