number of witnesses, assembled in Judge's Ruggles Court room this afternoon at

On account of the absence of Court

A Painful Accident
Yesterday afternoon Mr. C.W. Bush of the
Bank of Yolo met with a very peculiar and painful accident. In attempting to
shut the cut side door of the vault he slammed the door to catching the end of
the thumb of his left hand in jamb, pinching off all the flesh to the end of the
bone and tearing out the whole finger nail. A singular thing is that the finger
nail was left intact. Mr. Bush has preserved the nail as a memento.
