Edwin J. Edwin J. Feistel, Formerly A Resident Here, Dies In West.
Edwin J. Feistel, son of Mrs. Rudolph Feistel of
Ashland avenue and a former resident of this city, died in a hospital at
Fort Lyon, Colorado, Thanksgiving Day, according to word received from
his mother, who was called there because of his critical illness.
For two years prior to his death, Mr. Feistel was
postmaster of Fort Lyon.
Mr. Feistel was born in Saukville, Wis., 49 years ago.
He came to Sheboygan with his parents while a child and received his
early education here. He enlisted in the navy and was in the service
fourteen years. While in the navy and later employed at the Smithsonian
institute and in government geodetic work, he traveled to all parts of
the world. He has been in Colorado many years, having gone to Las Animas
for his health. He was engaged in business there and at Fort Lyon, where
he went in 1909.
He was actives in several organizations. Several years
ago, he was a district officer of the Knights of Pythias. He was a Mason
and was considered an authority in his community on Masonic history. He
was also active in the republican party.
Married twenty-seven years ago in Portsmouth, N.H. he
is survived by his wife and four children. August, Edwin Jr., Robert and
M--- Lester Crown. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Rudolph F---
of this city.
A military funeral was conducted at Fort Lyon, the Rev.
L.T.-- Forrest, an Episcopal minister officiating.
