Martha A. Carson
BOISE -- Martha A. Carson, 76, of Boise, died Friday, March 12, 1993, in a Boise hospital of natural causes. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March, 16, at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Darrell V. Beddoe of Whitney Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements are under direction of the Cloverdale Funeral Home.
Martha was born Feb. 23, 1917, at Chalk Creek, Nathrop, Colorado, a daughter of Charles and Ethel Nachtrieb of Nathrop. She married Ted Carson on March 12, 1934 at Canon City, Colo. Martha and Ted moved from Colorado to Boise, Idaho in 1941, where they remained the rest of their lives. After 48 years of marriage, Mr. Carson passed away in April of 1982.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Lynn Oliver, and Joann and Burt Dickover, all of Cascade; and two sons, Ted Carson of Boise and Hadley Carson of Emmett. Martha "Gram" has 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ruben VanBuskirk of Buena Vista, Colo.; and two brothers, Cal Nachtrieb and June Nachtrieb, both in Arizona. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother and a stepbrother.

Buell Crawford
First Football Fatality
Salida, Colo., Oct. 2 - Buell Crawford, a member of the Western State College football squad, died in a hospital here yesterday of blood poisoning which set in after he had broken a leg in practice. Surgeons amputated the leg last Friday in an attempt to save his life.
