Lawrence David Bangert
1944-1957
Larry D. Bangert--- Tentative arrangements have been made for the funeral service of Larry David Bangert, 12, who died Wednesday, Feb 27, [1957] in the Delta Hospital as a result of an automobile accident, to be held Monday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church. Rev. Peter Pitor will officiate and burial will be in the Delta Cemetery.
Larry was born Dec. 29, 1944 and lived his life in Delta, [CO]. He was in the sixth grade and attended the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his parents Mr. & Mrs. David Bangert; three sisters, Peggy Mae, Karen Elizabeth, and Debra Lee all of Delta; [CO]; three brothers; Cecil Douglas, and Buckley Jay, of Delta, and Lawrence Dwaine who is in the Armed Forces in Koreas; and grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. F. I Meyers.

Michael Bangert
1901-1995
Mike Bangert of Delta [CO] died Oct 3, 1995, at Delta Care Center of natural causes. A resident of Delta since 1910, he was 93.
He was born Oct 26, 1901 in Russell, Kansas to Micheal and Elizabeth [Eva Elizabeth "Effie"] (Lackmann) Bangert. He was the oldest of five brothers and six sisters. The family moved to Delta in 1910, where he spent his childhood, attending Delta schools through the seventh grade. He married Gladus Charleston; they later divorced. He was previously married to Margaret Kerrick. She died in 1956. Mr. Bangert helped his father on the farm as a child. At the age of 17 he entered the U.S. Navy. After four years in the Navy he farmed for himself and worked for a sheepherder. After three years in the U.S. army, he worked for a C.C. Camp, building tunnels in Grand Junction. He then worked for the railroad for 15 years as a track walker, and 11 years for Delta Packing Company as a night watchman.
He enjoyed bingo, music, going to lunch at the Delta Senior Citizen Center and going for car rides.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Lola Bangert of Delta and Ethel Bangert of Grand Junction; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, LaVera Connaway of Delta.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, five brothers and six sisters.
Mesa View Mortuary Cemetery handled the arrangements.

Potter

Mr. Potter, father of Mrs. Geo. T. Christ, died at his home in Delta, Colo., on the 20th inst. Mrs. Crist is the widow of Geo. T. Crist, who died while holding the office of receiver of the U.S. land office in this city. [The Globe-Republican (Dodge City, Kansas), May 27, 1897]
