Dorr, John Alfred
John Alfred Dorr, son of Mark L. and Nellie C. Dorr, departed this life on August 7, 1916. He was born in Colorado Springs on July 30, 1895, and was thus 21 years of age on his last birthday. He was educated in the public schools of Colorado Springs, and after passing thru the grades took a course in business college, in which he received high rank. Entering commercial life, he became interested in the automobile business, in which he became eminently successful, and was advancing rapidly in this particular vocation up to the time of his death. In January, 1915, John Alfred Dorr married Miss Nancy Hammond. One child was born to them, a daughter, Mildred. Throughout his whole life, John Door was an earnest, consistent Christian, both as boy and man. He was kindly and generous in business and social life, and always absolutely fair and upright in his dealings with others. his business associates speak of him in the highest terms, and gladly pay tribute to his uprightness, fairness and honor. His untimely departure from this life is sincerely regretted by hosts of friends in this city and county where he had become so well and favorable known, and they share with the immediate family in expressing their sorrow in this sad hour.
