Lamphear, Nellie G.
Nellie G. Lamphear, 86, of Colorado Springs died Wednesday at a local nursing home. She had been a homemaker. No local visitation is scheduled. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Havelock United Methodist Church, Lincoln, Neb., with the Rev. Albert Winseman officiating. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lincoln. Roper and Sons Morticians, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements with Evergreen Funeral Home, Fountain and Union boulevards, in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Lamphear was born Aug. 24, 1903, in Downers Grove, Ill., to Frank P. and Genevieve E. (Davey) Andrus. She lived in Lincoln from 1921 until moving to Colorado Springs in 1984. Mrs. Lamphear was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Martha Washington Chapter 153, Rebekah Vesper Lodge 375, Veterans of Foreign Wars Harris Farley Post 131 Ladies Auxiliary, Burlington Veterans Association Ladies Auxiliary and the Havelock Methodist Church, all in Lincoln. She was married Feb. 16, 1921, in Downers Grove, Ill., to George Lamphear, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Lamphear is survived by three daughters, Vivian E. Kennedy of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Leta M. Mallon of Escondido, Calif., and Sharon McCabe of San Francisco; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
