Mrs.
Milanda D. Keiser died Tuesday at her home, 924 Lincoln Avenue,
Colorado City. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2:30
o'clock from the Congregational church, Colorado City. She is
survived by her husband, two daughters and a son. Interment will be
in Fairview cemetery.

John H. Pachek, age 99, passed away Sept. 29, 1998. Preceded in
death by his wife, Rose C. Pachek. Survived by his daughter,
Gertrude Pachek, Pueblo, Colo.; and son, Carl (Therese) Pachek,
Phoenix, Ariz. Grandfather of Robert (Mary) Pachek, Wiggins, Colo.,
Jan (David) Richard, Donna Pachek, Paula Pachek and Carol Pachek,
all of Phoenix, Ariz. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren;
sister, Julia Henrich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr.
Pachek was the oldest living retiree of the CF&I Steel Corporation.
Viewing, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rosary, Friday, 7 p.m. and funeral Mass, Saturday, 10 a.m., St.
Patrick Church. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

AGED PIONEER DIES
Pueblo, July 28
G.W. Thompson, aged 81, of Trinidad, who came to Colorado in the
early 60's, died here today, after a long illness.
Thompson had many public offices in
the early days. He served in the legislature and at different
times was county
commissioner, county judge and
sheriff of Las Animas County.

afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Davis & Vories chapel.. Interment

The funeral of the late Mrs. Bessie May Martin, beloved wife of W.
K. Martin, will take place tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
family residence, 1237 Jackson Street. Rev. William McGarvey Lenox
will conduct the services and members of Pansy Circle, Women of
Woodcraft, will attend the services. Interment will be in the family
lot in Mountainview cemetery under the direction of the McCarthy

Impressive services were held yesterday at 10 a.m. in the McCarthy
funeral chapel, over the remains of the late Mrs. Martha J.
Hatfield, who passed away in this city a few days ago. May friends
gathered to pay their last tribute of respect to the memory of the
estimable old lady and the floral offerings were profuse and
beautiful, among them a beautiful tribute sent by members of the
Cactus Rebecca lodge. Rev. O. K. Maynard conducted the services and
Mrs. Risley Ferguson accompanied by Mrs. L. McCollough, sang “They
Beckon to Me From Over the Tide.” Following the religious services
the ritualistic services of the order were exemplified by the
members of the Cactus Rebecca lodge. Mrs. T. L. Lingle sang “Nearer
My God to Thee” and the Rebecca choir sang “Rock of Ages.” Following
the chapel service, the remains were taken to the Union station and
forwarded to Salida, Colorado, accompanied by F. A. Hiles and

August Menhle, age 70 years, died at a local hospital early
yesterday morning. The funeral was held from the Whiton chapel
yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The burial was in Roselawn

Ransom VanRiper, age 10 years, died in this city yesterday forenoon.
The body will be shipped to Denver, Colorado this morning by the

William E. Sitton, a resident of Pueblo for the past 35 years and
well known in the community, passed away yesterday at his home, 1100
Topaz Avenue, following an illness of several months. Mr. Sitton was
40 years of age and was a contractor by occupation. He came to
Colorado from Kansas 35 years ago and had resided in Pueblo since
that time. He was a man whom everyone respected, a straightforward,
upright citizen who had the affairs of his city at heart at all
times. He is survived by two children, Allie and Lucy Sitton, and a
brother, James Sitton, all of Pueblo. He was a member of camp No.
7111. M. W. A. of this city. The remains were removed to the
McCarthy undertaking parlors and the funeral announcement will be

this afternoon at 1 o’clock in the McCarthy funeral chapel and from
