Elizabeth (Lind) Altergott
1887-1969
MRS. ALTERGOTT OF WINDSOR, DIES ON MONDAY----Mrs. Elizabeth Altergott, 729 Main St. Windsor, died Monday night at Weld County General Hospital. She was 82. Born in Denhoff, Russia, May 21, 1887, she was married there in 1905 to Jacob Altergott, and came to the United States with her husband and small daughter, Elizabeth, in 1907. They settled in the Windsor community where they farmed until 1940, when they retired and moved to town.
She was a long-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Jacob, are six sons and daughters, Mrs. Donald (Marie) Winder, Jake Altergott, Harry Altergott, and Mrs. W. W. (Catherine) Rutz, all of Windsor; Mrs. John (Bertha) Wiedeman of Greeley and Mrs. Ruth Midcap of Wiggins. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Jake and Henry, and two daughters, Ellizabeth and Frieda, preceded their mother in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Faith Lutheran Church on Walnut Street, in Windsor. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery at Windsor. Bishop Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Friends who wish may send memorial gifts to the Building Fund of Faith Lutheran Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Altergott, 729 Main St., Windsor, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Bishop Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The name of the church given in Tuesday's Tribune was incorrect.

Jacob Altergott
1887-1974
Jacob Altergott, 87, of Windsor, well-known farmer and cattle feeder, died Wednesday, Dec 25, at South Eventide Nursing Home in Fort Collins. Born Jan. 4, 1887, Denhoff, Russia, he was married there to Elizabeth Lind in 1905. He, his wife and small daughter, Elizabeth, came to the United States in 1907. They settled in the Windsor community where they farmed until retiring in 1940, when they moved into Windsor.
Altergott was a charter member of the Zion Evangelical Church, now Faith United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Jake Altergott of Windsor and Harry Altergott of Yuna; four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Rutz of Windsor, Mrs. Donald (Marie) Winder of Greeley, Mrs. John (Bertha) Wiedeman of Greeley and Mrs. Ruth Midcap of Wiggins; 18 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in November, 1969, two sons, Jake and Henry, and two daughters, Elizabeth and Frieda.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Jacob Altergott
1917-1997
Jake Altergott, 79, of Windsor died Monday at his home on the farm where he was born. He was born Dec. 15, 1917, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Lind) Altergott. On Feb 5, 1939 he married Dorothy Seder of Windsor.
Mr. Altergott farmed and fed cattle southeast of Windsor until he retired in 1991 because of ill health. He grew up and attended schools in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1936. he attended Colorado State University for 1 and one half years. In 1937, he received the State Farmer's Award.
Mr. Altergott was a member of the Colorado Cattle Feeders Association, the Weld County Ag Council, the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, the Windsor Re-4 school board, and the American historical Society of Germans from Russia. He served as director of the Northern Colorado Stockyards Properties Inc., the Windsor Development Corp., and the Weld County Livestock Association, and vice-president of the Front Range land and Mineral owners, Association.
Mr. Altergott was a member and trustee of Faith United Church of Christ in Windsor.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy of Windsor; three daughters, Janice Altergott of Beaverton, Ore., Barbara Rocha of Woodburn, Ore., and Dorothy Jo Altergott-Wilcox of Windsor; a son, Larry of Windsor; three sisters, Marie Winder and Katherine Rutz, both of Windsor, and Ruth Midcap of Wiggins; a brother Harvey of Wheatland, Wyo., 17 grandchildren; three stepgrand-children; seven great-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-grandchildren. A sister; Bertha Wiedeman, is deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Faith United Church of Christ, Windsor. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley. Albert Hoblet
LOST IN STORM BODY IS FOUND
Greeley, Colo., March 27-Lying face downward in the snow, his saddle near the blanket wrapped around him, two miles north of -ea-e, and within 100 yards of a fence that would have led him to safety, could he have followed it, the body of Albert Hoblet of Denver, who has been missing since March 9, was found today. He was lost in a storm while going from Barnesville to his home in eastern Weld county.
America Hurst
LONG - TIME RESIDENT OF COUNTY, IS DEAD
Mrs. America Hurst, 90, died at her home 20 miles southeast of Greeley Saturday morning. Mrs. Hurst lived in Colorado for 48 years, 35 of which were spent southeast of LaSalle. She is survived by sons, Robert Chestnut of LaSalle, Shired Chestnut of Eaton and John Chestnut of Salida; two daughters, Mrs. John Forylin of Center Point, Ore., and Mrs Guy Smalley of Garden City, Mo.; by one brother, Don Coffman of LaSalle, by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Frank McLaughlin
Frank McLaughlin died at his home near Evans Tuesday, May 15, 1906, age seventy-two years. Mr. McLaughlin was a kind husband and father; a good neighbor and highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and several grown children who have the sympathy of their many friends.The funeral was held at 2 o'clock p.m., Wednesday.Buried in Evans Cemetery; Also spelled McGlothlin. Born in TN married twice, first wife was Nancy Kincaid. They settled in Ray County, MO.) Nancy died and Franklin McGlothlin married America Coffman. INFORMATION WANTED
Denton Poole, a man 70 years of age, was murdered in Greeley, Colorado, in September, 1881. He is supposed to have two daughters in Ohio or Iowa, who are unaware of his fate. He has lived a part of the time during the past 30 years in California. Any persons knowing anything in relation to him or his family, are requested to address J.H. Lawrence, Greeley, Weld county, Colorado, giving any information they may possess either in regard to him or his family. California, Iowa and Ohio papers copy in the interest of justice. Louise Grosclaude Roberts
Louise Grosclaude, daughter of James and Elizabeth Grosclaude, born February 19, 1839 at Rushville, Ill., died January 9, 1919 at Greeley, Colorado. She was married to William J. Roberts, April 12, 1860. To this union were born ten children, two of whom died in infancy. The oldest daughter, Mrs. P. E. Mann, died in Denver three years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss, Alfred and Harry of Ault, Colo., Louis of Akron, Colo., and Mrs. Harriet Madison of Greeley, Colo.; Charles of Findley, S. D., Frank, who is in Y.M.C.A. work in France and Emery of Mt. Sterling, Ill. Two brothers survive her - Charles F. Grosclaude of Denver and August Grosclaude of Camden, Ill. Also many relatives and friends in Illinois and Colorado.
Mrs. Roberts had the misfortune to fall and break her hip two years ago, from which she never recovered. Her suffering was great, yet she bore it with christian fortitude and was cheerful until the end. She often expressed her willingness to join her Savior, whom she so faithfully served. During the past several years she made her home with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Madison. For several days before she died she was comforted and cared for by her children who reside in Colorado. Paul Rose
MAY LYNCH A CATTLE RUSTLER
Denver, Col., Aug. 20-The body of Paul Rose, a Weld county cattleman who was murdered recently by a cattle rustler, has been buried in the sand near the Colorado-Nebraska line. His herd was found in possession of Al Cochran, king of the cattle rustlers of Colorado and Nebraska. Cochran is in jail at Greeley.
