"Where your Journey Begins"

Baldwin County Georgia
Marriages 1807 to 1818

BALDWIN COUNTY

Baldwin County was formed in 1803 from Hancock, and Milledgeville made the County Seat.
The Court House was burned in 1861 and all the early deeds were destroyed, but the old wills were saved and they are now well cared for in a good fireproof vault.
They are recorded in two books “1806 to 1819” and “1819 to 1864.” These are well indexed and in neat condition.

The Marriage records are in books “A,” 1819 to 1833, and “B,” 1833 to 1851, all indexed. In the back of book “A” are nearly 300 marriages, from 1807 to 1818,
which were made up from original papers after the first book was accidentally lost in the burning of the Court House. A list of these is given.
