Baldwin
County Georgia
Baldwin County was formed in 1803 from
Hancock, and
Milledgeville made the County Seat.
The Court House was burned in 1861 and all
the early deeds were destroyed, but the old wills were saved and they
are now
well cared for in a good fireproof vault.
They are recorded in two books “1806
to 1819” and “1819 to 1864.” These are well indexed and in neat
condition.
