DEATH OF A WELL KNOWN TEACHER-Professor Calvin S. Weld died at his home in Banks County yesterday at noon. No cause is assigned for his death. It is reported he died from an overdose of opium. He sank into a swoon early in the day and gradually went down until death relieved him. He has been teaching in Northeast Georgia for a number of years, having come South from New York fifty years ago. (17 Aug. 1887. page 3, Atlanta Constitution)
