Calhoun County, Georgia - History

News has reached the city of the death of Col. George Hines Dozier, which occurred a few days ago at his home in Morgan, Calhoun County. Col. Dozier was a brother in law of Dr. Charles L. Williams of this city and was also related to the Dozier family here. He was well-known in his section of the state, where he was a man of considerable prominence and influence. He was at one time the editor of the Calhoun County Courier. and until recently edited the Morgan Monitor. He was a lawyer by profession and was quite successful in the practice of the law. Col. Dozier leaves a wife and six children to mourn his demise, his wife being a sister of Dr. C. L. Williams, of this city.
