Woman Is Held For Shooting Two Men
Metter, Ga., Sept. 12-Charged with the shooting of John Suddeth, Candler County farmer and stock raiser, and the
possible fatal injury of his companion, Alex Laresy, near here, early today, Mrs. W.M. Davis, was in the county
jail here tonight. With Mrs. Davis are being held her daughter, Miss Susie Lane Davis
and M.P. Moseley, a boarder at the Davis home. Mrs. Davis, in a statement to Sheriff John Flint, said she killed
Suddeth and shot Laresy when Suleth[sic] kicked her front door in. [September 13, 1926, The Landmark, Statesville
