June 28 1914
Mr. and Mrs.
M. E. Peterson of Fort Gaines announce the marriage of their
daughter Pearl to Frank Graham of this place on last Sunday
afternoon at a 8 o'clock at
The Baptist
Church here. The marriage was quite a surprise to their many
friends. Mrs. Graham is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E.
Peterson.
At the
present the young couple is at the home of the groom's father, J. E.
Graham.
MARRIAGE AT FORT GAINES,
Mr. W. B. Dillard and Miss
Jimmie B. Hatchett United In Marriage.
Fort Gaines,
Nov 16-Mr. F.B. Dillard and Miss Jlmmie B. Hatchett, two of Fort Gaines
prominent society young people,
were married at the Baptist church here on yesterday morning at 9
o'clock,
Rev. G. J.
Corley of that curch performing the ceremony.
The
attendants were: Emmett Peterson with Miss Annie Laurie Dillard
of Auburn, Ala.; W. A. McAllister with Miss Minnie Hunt of Columbus,
J. E. Graham with Miss Minnie Mooty of Columbus, Robert L. Move of
Cuthbert with Miss
Floy Brown of Fort Gaines, John D. Gunn of Cuthbert with
Miss Annie Scott of Knoxville, Tenn.: Lee Peterson with Miss Scott Sharp of Fort Gaines
the bride and groom
taking their position in the center of the crescent formed by the
attendants.
The bridal
party came as far as Cuthbert, where they dined, and in the evening
left for Columbus
for the exposition
the rest of the party returning to Fort Gaines.
Mrs. J. E.
Paullin presided ably at the organ. The presents were pretty and
costly, and the affair throughout was a most pleasant one.
It has been one of the society events of the place, and the popularity
of both rendered tne occasion an important one.
Mr. Dillard
is a young lawyer, a member of the firm of Scott & Dillard, and is
a promising young man.
He is on the editorial
staff of the Fort Gaines Advertiser. Miss Hatchett is a daughter of Dr.
J. M. Hatchett,
is universally popular, highly accomplished, with many fare
traits. It is seldom that our town has witnessed
the marriage of two such favorite young people, and its best wishes go
with them for right prospects in life.

FORT GAINES PASTOR MARRIED
EDISON, April 24.
Rev. N. H. Massey, pastor of the Baptist church of Fort Gains, and Ms.
Leola Paulin Hash, also
of Fort Gains, were quietly married last night at the home of the
bride's sistter,
Mrs. L. M. Killingsworth of this place. Rev. J. L. Claxton, pastor of
Edison Baptist church, officiated.
