BOOTH-BARLOW
Miss Inez Barlow and Mr. Leonard Booth were united in
matrimony Saturday afternoon at the Methodist pastorage. Rev T. H.
Tinsley officiating. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. William
Barlow of the Magnolia district. Mr. Booth is a resident of the same
section, but formerly of Lanier, county.

DICKERSON-KUNTZE
Cards were received in Homerville this week announcing the marriage of
Miss Annie Louise Kuntze of New York city to Mr. James Barclay
Dickerson. The wedding took place at the Church of the Transfiguration
in that city on February 7th. Since completing at West Point a year or
two ago. Mr. Dickerson has been living in New York, being employed in a
bank in that city. He is the second son of Mrs. K. G. Dickerson of
Homerville, and his many friends in this section wish him and his bride
all happiness. They will make their future home in the big metropolis.

JOHNSON-HUNTER
The friends of Miss Annie Hunter and Mr. William A. Johnson were
surprised to hear of their wedding being solemnized at the Methodist
Parsonage Wednesday evening at seven o'clock. Rev, T. H. Tinsley
performed the impressive ring ceremony. The only witnesses were Mrs.
Cook of Atlanta, sister of the bride; Miss Lucile Williams, cousin of
the groom and Mrs. T. H. Tinslay. The bride was beautiful in her
wedding dress of tan satin back crepe with accessories to match. Mrs.
Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hunter, she is a young
woman of lovely characteristics, endearing herself to every one whom
she comes in contact Mr. Johns is a nephew of Dr. and Mrs
Williams and holds a position with the Bickerson- Gibbs Motor Co. The
bride and groom left immediately after the ceremony for a wedding tour
of ten days, after which they will return to Homerville and reside in

SMITH-SLADE
The many friends of the groom throughout this section will be
interested to learn of the recent wedding of Miss Louise Slade of
Cordele to Mr. Seward M. Smith of Atlanta. The wedding occurred in
Cordele on Thursday February 12th. The bride is a daughter of Mr.and
Mrs. Jerry Slade of Cordele and is an attractive and accomplished young
lady. Mr. Smith is a prominent attorney for the state highway
department in Atlanta. He is the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs Seward
Smith of Homerville. will make their future home in Atlanta.

WEST
-MOORE
Rev. J. M. Hancock of Lakeland, performed his first marriage ceremony
for mutes when on the last Sunday in December, he united in marriage G.
E. West of Thomasville and Miss Ruby Moore, daughter of A. H. Moore and
wife of the Mud Creek district of Lanier county. Mr. Moore and family
lived in Clinch before being cut off into Lanier. Their daughter
can neither hear or talk, and was educated at the school for the
deaf at Cave Springs, where she met her husband who is also afflicted
the same unfortunate way.

MRS.
BERTHA MALONE AND DR. P. H. ASKEW. SR. WED
Of widespread interest to
their many friends over Georgia is the announcement of the marriage of
Mrs. Bertha Malone to Dr. P. H. Askew Sr., both of Nashville in a quiet
ceremony performed in Quitman on February 15, by Rev. Kaiser, Baptist
minister.
Dr. and Mrs. Askew left
immediately after the ceremony on a five-day tour of the state of
Florida. They returned to Nashville Monday of last week and
will make their home at the lovely residence of Dr. Askew
between Nashville and Adel.
Mrs. Askew is the
former
Miss Bertha Register of Homerville. She is the daughter of the late Mr.
S. W. Register who served a number of years as clerk of the court in
Hornerville. She was married to Dr. L. Malone, of Homerville, in 1898
and they made their home in Savannah at the time of his death in 1932.
For some time she has resided in Nashville with her daughter, Mrs. G.
C. Vining. She has two other daughters, Mrs. G. R. Dell and Mrs. Evelyn
Glasgow, who reside in Atlanta.
Dr. Askew is a well known
and
prominent physician. President of the United Banking Company is an
extensive farmer and owner of the Nashville Hotel in Nashville. He
married Miss Flora Williams, of Ty, in 1897 and since has made his home
in Nashville as one of the most substantial citizens and influential
business men of the county. Mrs. Askew died in August. 1936. He is the
father of Dr. P. H. Askew Jr., of Nashville, with whom he is
associated. There are two daughters, Mrs. Ina E. Hancock and Mrs.
Clarice Askew Hendricks of Washington D. C.

THORNTON-FINDLEY
Miss Myrtle Thornton of Waycross, Ga., and Mr. S. D. Findley of
Homerville, Ga., were married Saturday, December 25th, 1937 at the
First Baptist Church in Greenville, Miss. The Pastor Rev. Smith
performed the ceremony. They will make their home in Greenville, Miss.
Mr. Findley is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Findley of
Homerville and many friends will be interested in the above
announcement and wish them many years of happiness.

SMITH-DEAN
Of widespread interest to a host of friends and relatives in this
section was the marriage last Tuesday evening January 25, 1938 of Miss
Dorris Smith to Mr. B. Frank Dean, both of Clinch county.
Mrs. Dean is the charming young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren L.
Smith of the Midway Community and Mr. Dean is the son of Mrs. Dora Dean
of Eulonia, Ga.
Mrs. Dean received her diploma with the 1935 graduating class at the
Homerville High School. After that time she completed a business course
at Homerville High School.
Then she entered school at the South Georgia Teacher's College in
Statesboro, Ga. Since that time she has been a member of the Midway
Consolidated School Faculty.
Mr. Dean is a Naval Stores operator, employed by The Rosa Company of
Homerville, Ga.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean are at home to their many friends and relatives at
Midway, Ga.
