Became critically ill while passenger on Canton Bus; died near Oakhurst
Robert Carber, a man about 40 years of age, whose home was in Canton became suddenly ill while a passenger on what is known as the Canton bus tuesday, and died within a few hours.
It was learned that he had been suffering of late qwith heart trouble and under the care of a local physician.
He had came to Marietta earlier in the day for medical attention and was on the return trip when he became ill. he requested that the driver stop at Oakhurst, so that he might make the balance of the trip by train. This the driver did, and offered to stay with him or go for a doctor. Carber, however, refused this assistance.
He was found an hour or so later, by passersby, in a critical condition, barely conscious. The ambulance of the Blark Undertaking company was immediately summoned and he was carried with all possible dispatch to the sanitarium of Dr. Nolan, where he was given medical attention.
Carber died before reaching Marietta without regaining condciousness, heart trouble was ascribed as being the cause of death.
