MELVERINE S BURNETTE
Melverine (Southern) Burnette, age 66 of 160 Hummingbird Lane died
Friday October 31st, 2008 at Mountainside Nursing Home.
Survivors include: husband- John B. Burnette ; daughters and son in
laws- Valerie Ann and Rev. Tommy Sanford; Tammy Josephine Ogle; Dixie
and Chris Cochran and Kimberly Ryder all of Ellijay.
The funeral will be at Flat Creek Baptist Church following grave side
service in the cemetery by the Rev. Cliff Nelson on Sunday
November 2nd, 2008 the family will receive friends starting at
4pm, November the 1st.

Mother Dies
Mrs. J. J. Withrow, 60, mother of
County Fire Ranger T. L. Holmes, died recently at her home in Ellijay
alter a long illness.

Funeral services
were held at 4 this afternoon for Joseph
Dorsey Wilson, Marietta Jewelry merchant who died
yesterday at Ellijay.
Last rites were
held in Ward Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. George Brown officiating.
Interment was In Douglasville City Cemetery.
A native of
Douglasville, Mr. Wilson came to Cobb County in 1914. He had been in
the Jewelry business ever since, and was the oldest Marietta merchant
in number of business years.
His business had
been located In the same place for 25 years. Mr. Wilson was a sports
enthusiast all his life.
Death followed a
heart attack while he worked on his cabin at Blue Ridge. He died in
O'Daniel Hospital, Ellijay.
Survivors include
his wife, two daughters. Mrs. C. E. Dobbs, Myrtle Beach. S. C. and Mrs.
James Thomas, Marietta; four sons, Joe M. and James Wilson and Bill and
George Young, all of Marietta; one sister. Mrs. John Daniels,
Douglasville. and five brothers, Frank, Arthur, Fred, Jerome, and Ed
Wilson, all of Douglasville.
Pallbearers were
Arthur Lynn, Dr. W. H. Perkinson, Charlie Cox, Lee Burton, Joe
Strozier, Wayne Lynn, Harold Griggs, and Dr. J.E. Lester.
