CARSON-EVANS.
Greensboro Ga., Nov. 8.—Notably beautiful among the season's weddings
was that of Miss Virginia Evans and
Mr. Samuel Carson of Atlanta, which took place at the Baptist
Church Wednesday in the presence of a brilliant assemblage. The church
was decorated for the occasion with palms, ferns and white
chrysanthemums, which, massed at the altar made a beautiful background.
Mrs. Linton Johnson of Madison, sister of the groom, sang before the
ceremony, "Love Me and the World is Miner
The bridal party, which included Miss Kate Evans, maid of honor, and
Miss Emelyn Ponder, of Forsyth, bridesmaid, Rev. A. Linton Johnson and
R. B. Combs, of Madison; J. W. Evans, L. W. Smith, of Greensboro,
ushers. The pews which seated the family and intimate friends of the
bride and groom, were marked by bouquets of white chrysanthemums tied
with white satin ribbons, The bridal party entered and crossed In front
of the altar. The bride entered with her sister,, Miss Katharine Evans,
and was met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Mr. S. W.
Carson of Atlanta.
During the ceremony, performed by Dr. C C Carson, of Valdosta, and Rev.
A. F O'Kelly, of Greensboro, Miss Nelle Hall played 'Hearts and
Flowers." .
The bride was charming In her wedding gown of Filipino silk. a gift of
Major P.E. Trippe of the Philippines, a cousin of the bride. The long
veil was adjusted with orange blossoms and the bridal bouquet was of
magnificent bride's roses.
Miss Katharine Evans, maid of honor, wore white net over pink silk
elaborately trimmed in lace and carried an armful of pink carnations,
Miss Emelyn Ponder, of Forsyth, wore net over mescaline and carried an
armful of white carnations.
Mr. and Mrs.Carson left on the 6 o'clock train for Florida and upon
their return home will be at 54 Merritts Avenue, Atlanta, Ga.
The bride as Miss Virginia Evans has been one of the most admired and
beloved girls in Greensboro's society. Mr. Carson Is the son of Mrs. M.
M. Carson and Is prominent In the business and social worlds of Atlanta.

MARRIAGE AT
GREENSBORO

Greensboro, Ga. Aug. 21.—Miss Anna
Turnbult, formerly a teacher in the Greensboro High School and Rev. H. W. Joiner, pastor of the
first Methodist Church. Greensboro, were married at the home of the
bride's mother, near Tugalo. Ga. The marriage was a quiet home affair.
Only the relatives; and a few friends were present Rev. W. L. Pierce,
of Athena, officiated. Mr. Joiner was pastor of the Asbury Methodist
Church. Augusta before coming; to Greensboro. Immediately after the
ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Joiner left for Washington D. C
