O. W. Meadows, a prominent farmer and merchant of Hancock County, was found dead this morning about sunrise some two miles from his home near the residence of W. T. Wood in Baldwin County. Meadows was shot clean through the body near the heart and must have died instantly. He was found sitting in the foot of his buggy with his head on the seat. His horse had been grazing around and from the general outlook, Meadows must have been killed about midnight. The killing is supposed to have been done with a pistol of large calibre or a Winchester rifle. His watch is missing. He leaves a wife and family.
