MRS. A. C ALFORD DIED SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Mrs. A. C. Alford, of Cataula died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the
McDuffie-Monroe sanatorium, after a short illness of appendicitis. Mrs.
Alford was 31 years old and is survived by her husband, mother and
father, Mr. and; Mrs. Speight of Cataula three brothers and two
sisters. The body was shipped to Cataula yesterday morning at 6:25,
where the funeral and interment were held yesterday afternoon.

Aged Lady Died At Cataula Sunday Mrs. D.M. Lawson Passed Away After
Brief Illness Interred At Cataula Yesterday
Mrs. D. M. Lawson, aged 59 years, died Sunday morning at 5:40 o'clock
at her residence in Cataula after an illness of six weeks.
The deceased was a loyal member of the Baptist church and has been a
resident of Cataula or over thirty years. She was widely known and
numbers her friends by her acquaintances. She is survived by her
husband, D. M. Lawson; three daughters. Mrs. Lizzie Vardeman, Mrs. Elis
Beers and Mrs. Tinney Lawson, all of Cataula and three sons, W. J.
Lawson, of Cataula J. L. Lawson, of Macon, and L.L. Lawson, of this
city.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at six thirty o'clock from
the late residence, Rev. Mr. Taylor, of Waverly Hall, conducted the
services and the interment was in the family burying grounds at Cataula.

E.D. LONG
E.D. Long died at his home near Cataula, Harris County at 11:30 o'clock
Thursday night after a short illness of stomach trouble. he was 64
years of age and was one of the most highly respected citizens and most
substantial farmers of that neighborhood. He was a consistent member of
the Masonic Lodge at Cataula. He was well known in this city and
had a number of relatives and friends here.
The deceased is survived by his wife, four sons, J. H. Long of
Birmingham, C.D. Long and R.A. Long of Cataula and W.AC. Long of
Cedartown, and one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Thompson of Cataula.
The funeral will take place at the home this morning at 1 o'clock and
the interment will be at the family burial ground near Cataula.

Cataula Man Died Here Friday Night
Henry T Page of Cataula, injured two weeks ago when his arm was caught
in a gin saw he was repairing, causing amputation to become necessary,
died at the city hospital Friday evening at 8 o'clock* where he had
been under the treatment of local physicians since the accident
occurred. Mr. Page was injured on the morning of September 8 and was
brought to Columbus in an automobile, where it was found that his
wounds were very bad. The arm, which was torn from below the elbow to
the shoulder, was removed above the elbow, and three ribs, crushed when
he was drawn into the machinery were set. Following the operation, Mr.
Page rallied somewhat, but the loss of blood was considerable, and on
Thursday of last week. It was considered that his condition was
critical, and Friday it was not believed he would survive the day.
Mr. Page was 43 years of age: a highly respected citizen of Cataula,
and well known In Columbus, where he had relatives, he was a member of
the Cataula Methodist church, and fraternally, was a Columbian Woodman.
He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Misses Eunice, Jessie,
Agnes and Lucy Pearl Page, and two sons. Otis and Newell Page. Mr. and
Mrs. R. W. Page, the parents of the deceased also survive him, as do
three brothers, J. C. Page of Unadilla, T. B Page of Rupert and H. L.
Page of Talladega, Ala., and six sisters, Mrs. Fletcher Simpson of
Columbus, Mrs. J. W. Owens of Catania, Mrs. J. H. Carlisle of
Greenville. Ga. Mrs. Terrence Gates of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. B.
P. Davis of Cataula, and Mrs. A. J. Allen of Durand Ga.
The remains were prepared for burial and shipped to Cataula at 7
o'clock Saturday morning where the funeral service and interment
will take place Sunday morning at 11 o'clock from Cowers church. Rev.

MRS NANCY J. PAGE
Mrs. Nancy J. Page, aged 64 years, died Friday night at 11 o'clock,
after a lingering illness at her home, near Cataula, Ga. She is
survived by her husband C. P. Page of Cataula; six sons. P. P.
Page, of Columbus Ga.; W. P. Page of Montaya, New Mexico. J. R.,
A. L. , L. H. and Booker Page of Cataula three daughters, Misses Ada,
Annie Lou and Lila, Mae Page, of Cataula Ga.; three brothers, J. W.
Hancock. of Ft. Valley. Ga.; J. P. Hancock, of Louisiana, and S.
W. Hancock, of Hamilton, Ga. one sister, Mrs. Fannie Lawson, of
Louisiana.
The funeral took place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
residence. Mr. White, of the Hamilton Baptist church, officiated, and
was assisted by Rev. M. W. Flanders, of the Midland Methodist
church.The interment was at Cataula Ga. The. following gentlemen acted
as pallbears; Messrs. T. J. Coodray, W. H Holland, J. T. Holland.
