OBITUARIES


Died In Perry, Houston County, on the 23d inst, Dr. Wm H. Rudd. formerly a Member of the State Legislature, from Houston County, a native of Tennessee.

Died near Bateman's Store, in Houston County on the 15th ult. of inflammation of the lungs, Mrs. Nicy Brookins, in the 41st year of her age. Mrs. B. Was born in Washington County Ga., but for the last four
years a resident of Houston County. She was a member of the Baptist Church for the last 12 years, and has left a husband and three children to mourn their irreparable loss.

Died At Minerva, Houston county  Mrs. CORNELIA A. HAVIS, daughter of Jacob Riley, Esq and wife of Dr. M. W. Havis, aged seventeen years and eight months.

In Houston county, on the morning of the 12th inst., MANORA, the fourth daughter of Joseph and Catharine E. Kemp, aged twelve months and eighteen days.

Dr. J.T. Coleman Dead
A Houston County Physician and a Brother-in-law of Rev. E.H. McGehee Rev. E. H, McGehee left yesterday afternoon for  Henderson, Houston county, Georgia, where he was called by the death of Dr. J. T. Coleman, of that place, his brother-in-law. Dr. Coleman was one of the-oldest and best known physicians of that section of Georgia, He had been practicing In Houston county for fifty years. 
The funeral services occur today.

Mrs. Permenter Dead
Mrs. D.J. Permenter of Houston county, mother of Mrs. M.L. Merceer and of Mr. J.J. Permenter of Macon, died yesterday morning at her home in Houston County.

DEATH OF MRS. MATTIE THORPE IN HOUSTON COUNTY
Mrs Mattie F. Thorpe, mother of Mrs. F. Thorpe, died at her home In Houston County yesterday morning at 10 o'clock, after an illness of several months She was one of the pioneer citizens of Houston and a woman of fine Intellect.
Funeral services will be held this morning at the, family homestead at 10 o'clock. The Interment will be at Perry this afternoon.

DEATH OF A. C. BARKER OF HOUSTON COUNTY,
BONAIRE. March 1,—Mr. A. C. Barker died very suddenly about 5 o'clock February 27. He plowed all the morning: and seemed in his usual health and was shucking corn when taken, and died soon after reaching
the house. It was said of him, no man was ever a better neighbor. He had never lived over ten miles away, and lived within half-mile of where he was born, Mr. Barker was fifty-six years old, and had been married three times. He leaves four sons and one daughter, besides his wife and two brothers. Joe and J. N. Barker, all of Houston County.

J. W. RUSHING DIES IN HOUSTON COUNTY
J. W. Rushing, a prosperous farmer and former tax collector of Houston County, died at his home in Byron, Ga., last night at 12 o'clock-—He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons.
The funeral will be held at the family residence Sunday,

Annie Washington Holmes 57. of Perry, died Sunday in a head-on collision three miles north of Hazlehurst on Georgia 19 in Jeff Davis County

Brother Expires Immediately After Return From Cemetery Where Another Had Been Buried—Leaves Family and Relatives.
Perry Ga.. March 20.—Just as the family were returning yesterday from the cemetery where they had attended the burial of Mr. Geo. W. Kunz, an other brother, J. B. Kunz, dropped dead. He was a married man and conducted a grocery store here. He leaves  a wife, mother, four brothers and three sisters, who have the sympathy of all good people In this peculiar and and affliction.
