DIES SUDDENLY;
MILLEN Ga., Jan, 24.—
Col. Harley H,
Harrell, a prominent young
attorney, was found dead In his room about noon today. No one knew he
was ill until he was discovered dead in his bed by the chambermaid.
Colonel Harrell's former home in Cochran, Ga. He graduated in law at
Mercer University last summer and came here soon after the creation of
Jenkins county to practice his profession. He was a member of the Arm
of Perkins & Harrell and made many friends during his brief
residence here. Colonel Harrell was a young man of promise and his
friends regret deeply that he was cut down In the springtime of life.
He has had several attacks of vertigo and acute indigestion, and the
verdict of the coroner's jury was that he died from acute Indigestion.
His remains will be carried to his old home at Cochran tonight for
Interment.

PARKER.
MILLEN Dec. 12.—
Mrs. Harrison Parker,
wife of H. Parker, died at an early hour this morning. Her death was
quite sudden. She had been In the best of health up to a few minutes
before death. Complaining of feeling a pain in her left side, she soon
became unconscious and died.
Mrs. Parker belonged to one of the most prominent families here by
birth and marriage, having been a daughter of S. Walace. She was a well
known worker in Baptist missionary circles, holding an important office
at the time of her death. Besides her husband she leaves two children,
Mrs. R. M. Jenks and Miss Neala Parker. Interment will be in the
cemetery here at 10 o'clock tomorrow.

JOYNER.
MILLEN, Nov, 20.—
Mr. E. L. Joyner,
one of the most prominent citizens of this section and an ex-corner of
Jenkins county, died at his home here last night, after a lingering
illness of several days. Interment took place here this afternoon. He
was about 56 years old and is survived by three children, Mrs, Green
Parker of Millen, Mrs. A. A. Flanders of Statesboro, and Mr. Carl
Joyner of Millen.

Mrs. Neila Parker
Young died last night after a short illness. The funeral service
will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at the home. The deceased is
survived by one sister, Mrs. R. M. Jenks, and other relatives.

DROWNED
W. R. Posey Meets Death When Small Boat Fills In Swift Current
MILLLEN, May 27 - The body of W. R. Posey, a groceryman of
Millen, who was drowned in the Ogeechee River near Daniel clubhouse
Wednesday, has been recovered and was sent to Tennille today for
interment. He will be buried beside his father, who died at the
Posey home some time back.
Mr. Posey and J. H. Daniel, Jr,, were fishing In the river near the
Daniel club house. Mr, Posey leaned too far over, causing the boat to
dip and fill. Both men jumped as the boat sank. Mr. Daniel discovered
that his companion was in trouble and endeavored to save him, but had
to abandon him to save his own life. The body sank and did not come to
the surface again, Search for the body was maintained till late in the
morning yesterday before it was found about ten feet from where it went
down. The dead man is survived by his wife, a brother, W. H. Posey who
was in business with him, and several brothers who reside in Texas.

MILLEN DIES
Illness of Years Due to Cancer Proves Fatal to Planter.
MILLEN Oct. 18.—H. W. Parker of Millen, died in the hospital In Atlanta
this afternoon. The deceased has suffered for several years with
cancer, from the effects of which he died. He went to various
specialists, but the disease could not be arrested.
Mr. Parker was one of the most successful planters in this section of
Georgia, operating large farming Interests and was one of the leading
citizens of the county. He is survived by a son, L O. Parker, vice
president ot the Bank of Millen; three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Turner,
Mrs. C. B. Landrum and Mrs. A. S. Boyer of Millen, Funeral
arrangements have not been announced,

Millen Man Dies In Wreck
MILLEN. Ga.. Feb. 22—Wilbur Duke Lambert, 18, of Millen
was killed and a companion injured near here today a 2 p.m. When their
car skidded and over-turned. Trooper P. L. Purvis said. Lambert's
companion and driver of the vehicle was identified as John Wesley
Wilson, 21, of Rt. 3, Sylvania Wilson suffered an undetermined
back injury and was admitted to a local hospital, Purvis said. The
trooper and County Police-man B. L. Cowart said the car was coming
toward Mill!en on Highway 23 at a "high rate of speed." and as it
topped a hill Wilson applied his brakes to avoid, hitting a slow-moving
county road repair truck and another car which was In the process of
passing the truck.
The car skidded into a ditch and overturned, throwing both men clear.
Purvis said.Lambert was employed by the Millen Veneer Co. Born in
Screven County, Ga. he had lived In Millen most of his life. He was a
member or the Oak Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m.. Thursday at the Bethlehem
Baptist Church near Girard. Ga.. the Revs. Roy Hollingsworth and
Charles Bettys officiating. Interment will be in the Churchyard
Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. H. M. Lambert of Millen; three
sisters Mrs. Ernest Hurst and Mrs. Rufus Brown of Millen and Mrs. M. C.
Moxley of Gastonia. N.C; and three brothers. Grady Lambert. Hubert
Lambert and Elmer Lambert, all of Millen
Pallbearers will be Cecil Sherrod, Oitis Landing. Elsie Holland,
Joe Larisey, Alfred Frawley and Gene Landing.

Horace G. Wiggins Sr.
Millen Ga,—Horace Greely Wiggins Sr., 77, died Tuesday morning in a
Jenkins County hospital. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in
the Green Fort Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnny Auburn and Kenneth
Jordan officiating, burial will be in the church cemetery. He was a
retired farmer and a member of the Green Fort Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Dicie Brannon Wiggins; seven

Miss Lottie Davis
Miss Lottie Davis of New York City and formerly of Jenkins County. Ga.,
died Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Williams and
Dotson Funeral Home.
She had lived in New York for 24 years. Survivors include a
sister. Mrs. Ida Brinson. Atlanta: six brothers. Cardell Davis and
