BARNESVILLE Ga,. Aug. 3,—The livery stable of J. W. Garland turned last night at 1 o'clock, resulting In heavy loss. The fire had made such headway before being discovered that the fire department could do little but keep the flames from spreading to surrounding buildings. All the live stock was run out except one mine and one horse.
A number of buggies, wagons and a lot of feedstuff were destroyed. Mr. Garland carried no Insurance and his loss Is estimated at $2,500. The building was owned by Mrs. J. W. Adams and was Insured for $2,500 which practically covers her loss. The origin of the fire is unknown.

Marriage of Colonel Nash and Miss Ferguson
An approaching marriage in which many Georgians will be interested is that of Lieutenant Colonel J. Quinsy Nash. of Barnesville, to Miss Arid Ferguson, of Pine Bluff, Ark. The marriage is to occur at Pine Bluff on October 15 and will be a brilliant social event.
Miss Ferguson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ferguson and he descended an each side of her family from a long line of colonial ancestry. She is regarded as one of the most beautiful and accomplished women of Arkansas.
Lieutenant Colonel Nash is the head of the military department of Gordon institute at Barnes ville, Ga., and is a member of Governor Candler's staff. He is one of the most popular and efficient officers of the Georgia state troops and claims friends in every part of the state.
