Laurens
County, Georgia
Will Index
This county was formed in 1807 and included much of the rich lands that
were given to Revolutionary soldiers in the earlier Washington County
grants.
The new Court House in Dublin is surrounded by one of the best kept
green lawns in the State, and the offices inside are in keeping with
the lovely grounds.
The records in the office of the Ordinary are all indexed, except the
early marriage records in two small books, from 1807 to 1820.
All deeds are in good condition and recorded in a duplex index.
A very fine history of this county was compiled by various county
officials, and published in the Centennial Edition of the Dublin
Courier Dispatch of December, 1907.
It is to be hoped that it will be put in book form and placed in
our public libraries as an inspiration for other counties to do
likewise.
Index to Will Book No. 1, 1809 to 1840.
