Doris Mozelle Leonard Moseley Funeral services for Doris Mozelle Leonard Moseley will be held at the Vivian United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverends Kevin Smith and William E. "Wishy" Nolan officiating. Interment will be at the Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, TX. The family will receive friends at McGuire Funeral Home, Vivian, LA on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mrs. Moseley was born January 26, 1917 in Chatsworth, GA and passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 at home. After marrying Robert Charles (Bob) Moseley in Brunswick, GA in 1944, they moved to Vivian, where they enjoyed 62 years together. A devoted member of the Methodist Church, Mozelle served numerous terms on the Administrative Board and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She and Bob were recognized for 61 years of service to their church. Mozelle was known for her passion for flowers-delivering them to shut-ins and arranging them for church for many years. Mozelle was active in her community. She served the La. Redbud Assoc. as president from 1983-84. As a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mozelle was chapter president and treasurer for several terms over her 59 year membership. Mozelle was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rose Leonard, as well as 7 siblings. She is survived by her beloved family; husband Bob; daughter Carolyn Moseley Carroll; son-in-law Joe Carroll, and her "angel" granddaughter, Gentry Carroll. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews, and other family members. Pallbearers will be Ronny Hall, Buddy Bauer, Buddy Wilson, Joe Caldwell, Charles Henry Caldwell, Jimmy Woods and David Byerley. Mozelle's family wishes to thank special friends Billie Hindsman and Lucy Burr, Northwest Regional Hospice and numerous other friends and neighbors.
