Willie D. O'Neal Willie D. O'Neal, 66, of Lafayette, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born Jan. 16, 1940, to the late Willie and Annie Mae Wofford O'Neal in Chatsworth, Ga., he had lived in Lafayette for more than 25 years. Mr. O'Neal worked as a custodian at Purdue University for the last 20 years. He was a member of the Universal Deliverance Church of God and Christ International. He enjoyed watching baseball and collecting baseball memorabilia. Surviving are a son Willie E. O'Neal of Dalton, Ga.; two daughters, Sue Hammonds and Ginella O'Neal, both of Dalton; two brothers, James O'Neal (wife: Mattie) of Kokomo and Robert O'Neal (wife: Sherrie) of Dalton; and five sisters, Amanda Louis Elmore (husband: Byron) of Lafayette, Martha Ann O'Neal, Addie Elizabeth Blalock and Lillie Geraldine London, all of Dalton, and Myra Render (husband: George) of Chattanooga. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to 10 a.m. funeral service Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Bishop James O'Neal officiating. Interment Center Valley Cemetery in Chatsworth, GA on Friday Oct. 6, 2006. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
