George H. Satterfield, 66, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga.

A native of Dalton, Mr. Satterfield lived in Asheville for many years, returning to Dalton in 1995. Mr. Satterfield was dedicated to community service, both in Dalton and in Asheville. He organized the North Georgia Citizen's Bus Tour, which transported senior citizens to various activities throughout Georgia and Tennessee. He was an active member of the Westside Church of God. While serving in the military, he was a U.S.O. coordinator.

He is survived by stepdaughters, Patricia Blankenship and Narvus Jean Clubb of Asheville stepdaughter and husband, Marcie and Ellis Molton of Hendersonville.

Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth, Ga. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Asheville.

The family will receive friends at Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5.
