Rev. J.H. Long Resigns Fort Valley Pastorate
Fort Valley, Feb 26. The membership of the Fort Valley Baptist church and the people generally of this town and community greatly deplore Rev. James M. Long's resignation of his pastorate here.
Mr Long came to Fort Valley five years ago from Dawson and never in the history of the community has as pastor and people worked more joyusly and harmoniously together.
Not only have the members of the Baptist church become pecullarly and strongly endeared to him, but people of all and no denominations through their love and respect for him, have heartily co-operated in his many successful undertakings here.
His influence among the young people and children of the town will in years to come give an over widening and deepening evidence of his strong influence for good. No action has yet taken upon his resignation.
